Workout Tips for Busy Moms | Evolution Nutrition

If you’ve ever felt like life pulls you in a thousand directions and the last thing you can fit is regular exercise, don’t worry. Today, we’ll take a look at three actionable workout tips to ensure more consistent and more efficient training.

1. Stick With Your Plan, Even If That Means Scaling it Back

It’s great if we could always make it to the gym for an hour-long session. But sometimes, you may only have twenty spare minutes on your lunch break for a quick workout. Does that mean you should skip it and try another day? No. You should work with the time you have and make the most of it. If you can’t do your typical workout, increase the intensity and do more work in less time or do the essential work and call it a day.

2. Get Your Family On Board

Why not mix family time and training? No one says fitness has to be a solo endeavor. For example, you can grab the bikes and cycle downtown as a family. If you have a large back yard, you can always organize a game of tag, hide and seek, or frisbee. You can also arrange a match of basketball or soccer. Are you feeling particularly adventurous? Why not take a hiking trip on the weekend. It’s a great way to soak up vitamin D, breathe some fresh air, get away from the screen, and enjoy exercise together.

3. Leverage The Power of Home Training

Can’t make it to the gym for a regular workout? Or maybe you prefer to exercise in the privacy of your home? Why not buy some essential equipment such as a few resistance bands and a couple of pairs of dumbbells (for example, a pair of 10 and 15-pound ones)?  Leave them near your bed so you can see them each morning as you get up. This is a simple tweak, but it makes the act of exercising regularly much more accessible. Plus, there are plenty of excellent workouts you can find based on your goals, preferences, and spare time.

4. Plan Your Meals

Proper nutrition is arguably the most crucial factor for fitness success. Even the best training program won’t be enough to help you achieve great results if you’re always eating out and on the go. This is because, while working out provides a stimulus to the body to adapt and improve, it’s your nutrition that makes it all possible. Without the proper calories, carbohydrates, protein, & fats, you would spin your wheels. A great way to go about things is to plan your meals ahead of time and even spend a bit of time with preparation at the start of each week. That way, you’ll always have healthy and nutritious meals ready, no matter how hectic the day might get.
